Pump Relay BMW E60 M5 E63 M6 SMG III
The pump relay is responsible to turn on / off the hydraulic pump of the SMG system. A broken relay causes the pump to fail priming. Without hydraulic pressure, the system cannot engage the clutch or change gears.

Clutch Solenoid Valve BMW E60 M5 E63 M6 SMG III
The clutch solenoid valve is located next to the pump at the driver’s side of the gearbox and is responsible for the clutch actuation of the SMG system. A faulty valve can cause problems while engaging the clutch (for example shuttering) and in consequence the car refuses to change gears. This is a factory-new spare part.
Transmission Speed Sensor BMW E60 M5 E63 M6 SMG III
This sensor provides the speed signal of the transmission input shaft. The speed signal is required by the SMG control unit to control the transmission system, adjusting properly the shaft speeds before engaging and disengaging the different gears.

The temperature sensor is located on the hydraulic unit of the M5 / M6 SMG III and measures the temperature of the hydraulic fluid. Due to its location in a high temperature area, the sensors suffers often from damage and is a common problem.
Gear Position Sensor Repair Harness BMW E60 M5 E63 M6 SMG III
New wiring harness to repair the gear position sensor strip located on top of the gearbox. Roughened or frayed cables are a common problem with this wiring harness. When the insulation of the cables is broken, short circuits occur, which lead to various SMG malfunctions and error messages (for example 4F80, 4F82, 4F85). Our wiring harness repair kit is supplied with a ready-made original BMW connector.
